Reports are saying that Paris Hilton was crying non-stop, may have a rash, was without make up, messed up hair, and was seen by a psychiatrist. This lead to Ms. Hilton being released from jail and placed on home confinement for 40 days. Remember that’s 40 days in 4000 square feet of space at her mansion home, where she has a multitude of servants and employees to attend to her needs. What a punishment.

Where is the lesson in this? That if you are ultra-rich you can bend the rules and get out of jail? That if you are even a questionable celebrity jail is something that has a revolving door. I mean if I was in jail, I’m there for the full sentence minus parole. If I were to be lucky enough to get home confinement, which would not happen, it would not be in a spacious 4000 square foot portion of a mansion. That’s double the space of most homes the average person in American has. True hardship.
And why was she let out? Reports vary. Some say it was because she developed a rash, others say she had an unnamed mental debilitation. Neither of these critical conditions required her to go to a hospital or medical facility. Odd don’t you think? How many prisoners have medical ailments, and rather than being sent home they go to a medical prison or other facility under guard. How many prisoners that have mental issues are placed in mental health facilities like Bellevue in NYC.
I feel this is an obvious slap in the face. Ms Hilton, or her family, bought her out of jail. This is a farce. Prison is not a fun place. It’s depressing to be confined in a cell. I’ve never been in one but the ones I have seen look rather depressing. I’ve never known someone who has been imprisoned that though it was a great place to stay. No one looks at it as a vacation stop, except some celebrities and entertainers it seems.
I’m insulted. I’m furious. As a Black Puerto Rican man, I couldn’t get out of prison if I needed a heart transplant. This woman got out because she felt bad. I wonder how staying at home, with her dog and servants, getting gourmet cooked meals and massages and all the other things her status provides, will affect her actions in the future. Will this stop her from drunk driving? No. Breaking the law? No. Buying a new mansion because she is bored after being in the current one so much? Maybe.
It may be one thing in that entertainers and celebrities get a preferred treatment. It’s annoying and wrong. But once they get jailed, how about they actually stay there? I mean if the image of justice means anything anymore. Because I honestly know crackheads that are more talented than Paris Hilton. I know felons that can provide more to the general good of society than she does. The only thing this woman has is money. Stupid amounts of it. Supposedly the law doesn’t care about that. Obviously it does.
This is what I think, what do you think?
