Brazil, Pirates and Denzel's secret

Well I was not pleased with the Brazil vs. France game. Like far too many I expected a relatively easy win for Brazil. It definitely wasn’t that. I’m not sure who France was playing but I don’t think it was Brazil. There was no zip to the game, well not until about the 75th minute. Control of the ball seemed decidedly to be in the hands of the French. And I don’t even want to speak about the passing.

Zidane had a good game, and that’s great for him. But France just has not struck me as that strong a team. Sure Brazil took them for granted. Even so there is no excuse for the virtual shutout of shots on goal. Brazil went from an average of 9 shots per half I think, and about 24 in the previous match to I think it was 3. That is insane.

Rhonadinho, who I consider on of the best ball handlers in the world was stripped virtually every time he had the ball. Roberto Carlos, Cafu and Kaka couldn’t make a pass more than 10 yards. No one had any good touches on the ball. And Reynaldo, who was normally double teamed, was ineffective. I can understand that it could be a bad day, that some of the players could be off. But the entire team and the substitutes? With a team of this caliber? Brazil had 12 straight unbeaten games in the World Cup, and then this? I don’t think so. France didn’t out play them, Brazil wasn’t playing. I’ve heard rumors that France paid for their win in France, if that were true I’d say it happened again. I can’t understand another reason why everyone was this bad.

On a consoling thought Germany advanced. As my readers know I did pick them to win the Cup. With England out, and a win by Portugal (yes I expect France to lose) the big question is Italy. While not the most stunning team this Cup they are strong and consistent. It will be a tough game for Germany. The interesting part will be the score I think. Neither has a great backfield, so it will be a competition between goalies. The winner of this match will probably take the Cup. Again I say it’s Germany.

In other thoughts, I can’t wait to see the next movie directed by Mr. Denzel Washington. While there is no word on the style of movie, I’m guessing it will have a decent amount of action. The reason is Mr. Peter Jackson is being sought for the special effects. Considering the work of Mr. Jackson on the Lord of the Rings and King Kong movies, Mr. Washington must have something quite unique in mind. I’m hoping for something of a more Sci-fi bent myself, it is a favorite of mine. We shall see, I’m sure more will leak out as it moves forward.

Another movie I am looking forward to see is the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I’m eager enough that I will see it alone. [The fun life of a single guy, lol] Mr. Johnny Depp is a great actor and his Captain Jack Sparrow is one of his best. The entire cast and crew made the first film stunning, no matter the hype I think this will be a great film. Considering Mr. Depp is known to only do films he personally believes in, one would expect the script was strong. Mr. Orlando Bloom and Ms. Keira Knightley are no slouches either. Of course the big question is ‘what is in the locker’, Davey Jones locker to be exact. And how did Jack get in there in the first place. Quite the pirate that man. Watch out for your rum.

This is what I think, what do you think?
